how to import your own CA Cert into Firefox on Android

Sadly the android version of Firefox lacks the options to import some (own) certificates into its own certificate store. But there is a trick: save your certificate (pem format works fine) on some webserver or store it on your device and access it directly via Firefox an your android (the url for on-device setups looks something like file:///storage/emulated/0/ ), it will show a popup asking you for which type of authentication this certificate should be used. Then just select OK and the certificate is saved.

Years later I am happy to find your article. FireFox still doesn’t honour Android keys.

    Thanks Felix!

Danke, genau was ich gesucht hab! Funktioniert auch in 2019 noch optimal, und leider gibt’s noch immer keine eingebaute Möglichkeit dafür!
